LOS ANGELES (CN) - The website for a Denver radio station swiped copyrighted pictures of Prince Harry for a post titled "Prince Harry and the Cocktail Waitress?" National Photo Group claims in court.
Alice1059.com, the website for Denver radio station Alice 105.9, reposted the photos without permission from websites run by National Photo's clients, according to the complaint in federal court.
The Los Angeles photojournalist company, which licenses its celebrity photographs to online and print publications, says that it has "invested significant time and money in building its portfolio" and touts its "impressive list of clients including some of the most-recognized names in celebrity reporting."
Entercom Communications owns the radio station and makes money on the website through advertising revenue, National Photo says.
"Entercom increased traffic to the Website and, in turn, its advertising revenues," the lawsuit states.
National Photo Group demands $150,000 per infringement, and any profits Entercom made by posting the pictures.
National Photo is represented by Karl Kronenberger, Jeffrey Rosenfeld and Virginia Sanderson of Kronenberger Rosenfeld in San Francisco.
