Exotic Dancers Demand Wages

(CN) - An Alabama strip club refused to pay its dancers all of their wages, according to a class action in federal court.
Lead plaintiffs April Mud, Jessica Whitehead and Brianca Arnold sued Diamonds Exclusive Mens Club in Mobile, Ala. for unpaid wages.
The plaintiffs say there are more than 250 potential class members.
The dancers say they were required to pay a daily "floor fee" in order to perform, and had to tip out bartenders, DJs, and their manager.
Diamonds refused to pay the dancers their appropriate wages or tips, in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act, did not keep accurate records of hours worked and wrongly classified the dancers as independent contractors, according to the complaint.
The defendants are VMJ Inc., JMV Inc., Paxos Management Services, John Vellianitis and Jeremy Velliantis.
