(CN)- The actress who played Elly Mae Clampett on "The Beverly Hillbillies" settled her lawsuit against Mattel over a Barbie doll in the likeness of her character.
Donna Douglas, a 78-year old Louisiana resident who now performs as a gospel singer, played Elly May Clampett on the hit television show "The Beverly Hillbillies," which aired on CBS from 1962 to 1971.
In May, Douglas sued toy giant Mattel over the "Elly Mae" Barbie doll, modeled after her character in the TV show.
Her complaint in federal court in Baton Rouge, La. said she did not give the company permission to use her likeness, and sought $75,000 in damages.
Mattel claimed Douglas didn't have any say in the matter because co-defendant CBS Consumer Products holds all rights to the Elly Mae character.
In a one-sentence ruling on Thursday, a district judge dismissed the action with prejudice.
Douglas' attorney Philip Shaheen told Courthouse News that a settlement had been reached, but all parties were bound to a confidentiality agreement.
